What is the difference between a freeform stretch Marquee, Tent and a Canopy? Fabricreations marquees differ dramatically from Standard PVC or clearspan peg and pole structures and Marquees. The 100% waterproof BEDOUINFLEX™ two-way stretch fabric used by Fabricreations enables us to shape and design a solution uniquely suited to each event. Re-determining a particular space is simply a matter of repositioning poles within the tent to provide a graceful and attractive solution to suit any site.
Fabricreations marquees are generally larger freestanding structures while canopies are usually attached to an existing structure. Either way, Fabricreations Marquees can be transformed into a Canopy and a Canopy can be transformed into a tent (if size permits). We interchange the term Marquee and Tent to describe our freestyle structures based only on the function they are to be used for.

Fabricreations Marquees are not restricted to outside venues; our unique products can transform indoor venues into a tented experience.
Can I erect a tent in a variety of shapes and sizes? Yes! Larger tents can be erected with sides up or down or a combination thereof. Poles can be moved around to accommodate furnishings and decor and can also be moved to change the shape of the tent. Canopies can be wrapped around trees, rocks and walls – and erected with or without poles. There literally isn’t a space that a Fabricreations tent won’t transform into a viable entertainment zone!
Is there a maximum or minimum size? Currently our largest single sized freeform tent in the rental stock is 20m x 30m, though should your event require it we can manufacture larger tents (up to 30m x 100m). Where a larger tent is required, we can join tents together to increase the covered area. Our smallest rental tent is 4.5m x 6m though smaller tents are available for purchase. All tents are manufactured in Australia and adhere to the strictest quality control standards. Clear span “echidna” pod marquees can be made in spans from 3m to 40m; they are modular so can be made to any length you require.
Are tents and canopies waterproof? The BEDOUINFLEX™ fabric is the only 100% waterproof stretch fabric on the market today. Other lower cost imitators are either shower proof or made from layers of low stretch fabrics that do not provide the same dramatic stretch shapes uniquely available to Fabricreations Marquees.
What type of fabric is it? Tents are made out of a two-way BEDOUINFLEX™ stretch fabric specially developed by us for this application. The inner side of the BEDOUINFLEX™ fabric provides for a lovely fabric draped effect, saving on costly silk or fabric linings usually required within standard PVC marquees. BEDOUINFLEX™ fabric also contains a UV Absorber to prevent fading and provide the longest lasting stretch tent solution in the market. The fabric is incredibly strong with a two tonne breaking strain at any point, yet provides greater stretch than any comparable product.
BEDOUINFLEX™ is also the only stretch fabric designed in Australia to specifically meet the local climate conditions and rigorous fire, structural and safety standards.
The additional unique feature of this fabric is its 100% recovery. BEDOUINFLEX™ fabric completely retains its original shape. This means poles can be removed or repositioned to achieve a completely unique shape every time.
Does your fabric meet fire regulations? Fabricreations Marquees meet the European, US standards and Australian fire standards AS1590.2 and AS1590.3
How do you fix the tents to a structure? This depends on the site the tent will be rigged at, but we usually use a combination of weights, bolts and sail hooks, rope, pegs and aluminium poles.
What are the standard colour options?

Can I have a customised shape or structure manufactured? Yes. We provide a one stop design shop for any custom solution from a 3m x 3m point of presence up to clear span structures 40m in width. With the ability to design integrated floors and walls in combination with clear span structures we can provide a unique and customised solution for any event.
Can Freeform Tents be used inside? Fabricreations Marquees can be erected inside venues to transform them into a fully tented experience. |
